Costs and budget

What is the minimum budget for a billboard campaign in Bangladesh?

Lower than most people assume. Digital screen time is sold by the minute per day — the minimum on most of our sites is 60 minutes a day, and on a few it is 30 — so a short run on a smaller panel is genuinely within reach of a single-outlet business.

There is a persistent belief in this market that billboards are for telecom operators, banks and nobody else. I understand where it comes from — those are the brands you see on the big faces — but it is not really true any more, and the reason is digital.

Why digital changed the maths

A printed billboard has a hard floor. Somebody has to print a skin, send a crew up a structure, and hang it. You cannot do a third of that. So the smallest sensible static booking is a month, and the print bill lands whether you run for four weeks or twelve.

An LED screen has no such floor. Your file goes into a loop. Taking sixty minutes a day for a fortnight costs a fraction of taking a face for a quarter, and there is nothing to print. That single fact is what put out-of-home within reach of a restaurant group, a clinic, a coaching centre, a new showroom.

A more useful question than "what is the minimum"

Ask instead: what is the smallest booking that still does something? Because a token presence on a great site for three days is money spent on very little. Frequency is what out-of-home trades in. The same commuter passing the same screen eleven mornings running is the mechanism.

So if the budget is tight, my honest advice is to narrow the geography rather than the duration. One screen on the road your customers actually use, held for a fortnight, beats four screens scattered across the city for four days. Every time.
